There isn't a single things that I could say about Johnny Cash that hasn't already been said.  The man is a legend, and rightfully so.  I mean, take a good look at his life.  He put himself through hell and back.  He rose from ashes, he loved and lived deeply, lost his soul-mate only to join her a few short months later, and he still inspires.

You know that quote from the Sandlot?  "Heroes get remembered, but legends never die."  Well, if that's true then Johnny Cash lives in the inspired lives of all those he left behind and his spirit flows from the songs he sang.

I absolutely love this music video that was made after his passing by a group of musical artists who wished to pay tribute to Johnny Cash.  His voice washes over you and fills you.  The richness of his sound infiltrates your mind and soul and cuts to the deepest part of you.

Johnny Cash was never Nashville.  He was never honky tonk.  He was never rock and roll.  You can't pigeon hole a sound like Johnny Cash, just like you couldn't pigeon hole the man that he was.  He was and will always be the one of a kind whose sound no one else has.  He sang his songs like he lived his life.  They're full of beauty, ugliness, love, sin, truth, and real.  Maybe that's why we love him so much.  There aren't many musicians who've come into this world who were as genuine and real as the late, great Johnny Cash.
