January 16, 2015--Shooter Jennings, "Outlaw You"

Artist:  Shooter Jennings
Song:  Outlaw You
Album:  Single Only

Shooter Jennings.  Most people know this name.  You hear the name "Jennings" and you're automatically transported to the late, great Waylon Jennings.  Shooter's father.  However, Shooter's success is completely his own. Listening to his lyrics, you can tell the deep love and respect that he has for his father and for his father's career.  "Outlaw You" is a jab at all the "Bro Country" that has plagued the second decade of this century.  Taking lyrical swings at artists like Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean, Shooter doesn't hold much back, but then again...he never has.

His first album was titled "Put the O Back in Country"  and he's released 9 albums since his first, which was released in 2005.  Shooter is a multifaceted, in-your-face, don't-hold-back musician.  He learned how to play the drums at age five, by age 8 he was taking piano lessons, and by age 14 he was playing guitar while occasionally playing drums for his father.

I love his raw and true to yourself nature.  Shooter has released multiple singles, all of which are awesome.  Just to name a few:  "Steady at the Wheel", "Aviators", "Walk Of Life", "It Ain't Easy", and "The Real Me".

If you haven't listened to a lot of him in the past....you may want to remedy that.  He hits home and isn't afraid to say, or sing, what's on his mind.
