January 15, 2015--Aaron Watson, July in Cheyenne

Artist:  Aaron Watson
Song:  July in Cheyenne
Album:  Real Good Time

Aaron Watson has been around Texas and bringing music to folks since the late 90s.  He attended Abilene Christian University where he first picked up a guitar and began to write.  Songwriting wasn't Watson's first choice, however.  He has a profound love for baseball, but his career was stopped short by an injury.  His mother had always encouraged him to sing, and after the injury something inside him decided to get to it.

Watson played around Texas for some time before releasing his first album, "A Texas Cafe".  This cowboy has released 11 albums with a 12th on the way.  "The Underdog" is due to be released on February 17th of this year with the single "That Look" already climbing the music charts.

Aaron and wife Kimberly haven't been without heartache.  They lost one of their four children shortly after she was born.  There was no more music pouring from Watson's soul.  No more rich tones and feel good lyrics filling his heart.  Then he did what a lot of us fail to do:  he prayed.  Pouring his heart and soul out to God he said, "God, I don't think I can do this.  If music is what you need me to do, then I need some help." After that, Watson recorded the album "Real Good Time" in just a month's time!  This man is a delightful cross between a Honky Tonk and a Church Pew.  Aaron reminds me of the greats.  He's a real cowboy and I love his testament to Lane Frost in the above song.

He's got a lot of other wonderful hits like "3rd Gear and 17", "Fast Cars & Slow Kisses", "Summertime Girl", and his newest "That Look".  If you give him a listen, then I know you'll understand why I like him so much.  Not to mention the fact that Aaron is all about God and his fans.  He's one of those artists that will stay behind no matter how large or small the crowd and make sure that every single fan goes home knowing that he's grateful to them for their love and support.

Aaron Watson has been successful the last 15 years, lets see what the next 15 has in store.

"The Underdog" to be released February 17, 2015
Look for it on iTunes and Amazon Music
