January 29, 2015--Kevin Fowler, Love Song

Okay, so I guess I'm over being pissed off and I'm ready to write again.  So, here goes.....

Artist:  Kevin Fowler
Song:  Love Song
Album:  How Country Are Ya

I love to listen to a little Kevin Fowler.  The man has got quite the range of style.  He's got a tendency to show his sense of humor in his music, as you can tell from the song above.  He's also damn good at taking a more serious with songs such as "Long Line Of Losers".

Fowler has written top 40 hits for singers such as Sammy Kershaw (Beer, Bait, & Ammo), Mark Chestnut (The Lord Loves The Drinkin' Man), and Montgomery Gentry (Long Line Of Losers).  He was born in 1966 in Amarillo, TX and after he graduated high school he moved out to LA to go to further his musical education at a Music Institute located there.  Soon after he came back to Austin and began writing and playing.

It was around 1998 when Kershaw and Chestnut began singing the cover of Fowler's songs during their live shows, which Montgomery Gentry followed suit in 2008.  Kevin Fowler doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  He's still writing, still touring, and still loving life.  His fun-loving nature hasn't waned since he began.  Fowler is a prominent force in the Red Dirt music scene, with multiple number one hits on the Texas Music Charts.

Give him a listen, I like "Love Song", "Long Line Of Losers", "That Girl", and "Best Mistake I Ever Made".
