Artist: Cross Canadian Ragweed
Song: Soul Agent
Album: Mission California
Oh, Cross, how I miss you. These guys split up back in 2010 for multiple reasons. Some say it's because Randy Ragsdale wanted to spend more time at home with his family. He has a son with autism and wanted to be around more to help out. There's also been speculation that one of the members wasn't "artistically pleased." Either way, it's a loss to us all. Cody Canada still performs with Jeremy Plato (bass) in their band Cody Canada and the Departed.
Cross Canadian Ragweed broke out onto the red dirt music scene back in 1998.
Look how young! They graced us with six wonderful albums. Ironically, I got to see them live on my 17th birthday since "17" was one of their biggest hits (from the Purple Album) and I even got a picture with Cody Canada! Talk about a great birthday!
You can't go wrong when you listen to Cross Canadian Ragweed. With songs like "Carry You Home", "Walls of Huntsville", "Dimebag", "Alabama", and "Fightin' For" everyone is bound to find something they love. There's also a personal favorite: "Wanna Rock & Roll" written by Ray Wylie Hubbard that the guys did a fantastic job on.
I hope you like them. If you're just now hearing them for the first time or if you've been a long time fan, please leave a comment and tell me what you think. It'd be much appreciated!
Thanks!
