January 25, 2015--Tracy Lawrence, Better Man Better Off

Artist:  Tracy Lawrence
Song:  Better Man, Better Off
Album:  The Coast Is Clear

I bet it's been a while since you've listened to Tracy Lawrence. Well, it had been for me until a month or so ago.  I don't know what happened then, but I'm thinking it was my family's Christmas get together.  We were all hanging out in the garage listening to music.  I got the job of DJ and decided we were going to throw in some stuff we hadn't heard in a while.  Tracy came up and I haven't been able to take him off my music player since.

Tracy was born in Atlanta, TX and raised in Foreman, AR.  He had a love for music at an early age.  His mother had to write down the lyrics to his first song, since he was only four years old when he wrote it and hadn't learn how to spell yet.

After college Tracy made his way to Nashville where he worked in phone sales and played talent shows to build his name.  Eventually, that paid off.  His first album, "Sticks and Stones" came out in 1991 and Tracy has released 8 studio albums since then, not including compilations and a Christmas album.

I love his songs.  His deep voice just draws me in.  His rich tones just wash over you and pull at you.  The above song along with "Alibis", "Texas Tornado", and "If The World Had A Front Porch" are some of my favorites, though there are many others that are great to listen to.

If it's been a while since you listened to Tracy Lawrence then I'm going to encourage you to take a break from the hear and now and take four minutes to listen to your favorite Tracy Lawrence song.  If you don't have one, then listen to one of mine.

Enjoy!
