January 14, 2015--Wade Hayes, "The Day That She Left Tulsa (In A Chevy, In A Hurry)"

Artist:  Wade Hayes
Song:  The Day That She Left Tulsa (In A Chevy, In A Hurry)
Album:  When The Wrong One Loves You Right

Am I the only person that has asked, "Hey, where did Wade Hayes go?"  Well, apparently I've had my head under a rock because this Oklahoma boy hasn't gone anywhere.  Born in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma Wade is the son of country music artist Don Hayes.  His father was a major inspiration to him and encouraged him in his musical journey.

Wade has had a lot of ups and downs since we remember him from the 90s with hits like, "Old Enough To Know Better", "When The Wrong One Loves You Right", and "How Do You Sleep At Night".  Well, guess what?  He's been around and he hasn't given up on music either!  He collaborated with Alan Jackson's fiddle player, Mark McClurg, and together they make the duo McHayes.  He also released a studio album in 2009 called "Place To Turn Around".

In 2011 Wade was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer.  I'm glad to say that his operation was a success with the last remaining tumors being removed in March of 2012.  Wade's experience with cancer inspired him to right his last released single, "Is It Already Time?"  It's a wonderful song and I suggest you listen to it before you leave this page.

The talented and inspiring Mr. Hayes has thankfully not written his last song. Personally, I know that I'll be looking out for whatever he shares with us in the future.
